Grow Wellington works with the region’s manufacturing sector to identify common issues and develop collective solutions.

The first example of this will be a scheme to facilitate graduates into management positions in manufacturing to boost the sector’s capability to take advantage of market opportunities that exist. This scheme will start in early 2009.

Grow Wellington is also working with CentrePort and private sector interests to promote the region as a logistics hub for imports and exports. If successful in growing the transport and storage capacity of the region, the manufacturing sector will receive some advantage to assist their profitability.
