As the regional economic development agency, Grow Wellington’s aim is to help create a strong and vibrant Wellington regional economy and to make the Wellington region internationally competitive and attractive.  
 
Grow Wellington is targeted in its approach, working with businesses with the desire to innovate and grow, and to become globally competitive.  Innovation and working towards building strong ecosystems underpins all of Grow Wellington’s activities – it is the means by which we create a strong and vibrant regional economy and the way in which to make ourselves attractive to world markets.
 
Grow Wellington was set up as a result of the Wellington Regional Strategy (WRS) which was developed in 2007 by the nine local authorities in the region. Grow Wellington is now guided by the refreshed 2012 WRS, view the full refreshed strategy here. To learn more about the WRS visit their website.
