Acclaimed director and film-maker Rob Sarkies is to host an inspiring kick-start to 2010 with a series of weekend workshops aimed at short, 48hr or digi-feature filmmakers looking to move into features. The director’s main job on a feature set is the one no one else is hired to do: get great performances. But many directors (if forced to admit it) find actors a little scary.
This workshop will demystify the acting process by providing a glimpse inside the actor’s head. By understanding their process you will be better able to adapt your direction to their needs.
One day one, Rob will detail his approach to shaping performance from the ground up. With professional actors joining us on day two, we will workshop scenes and build a practical toolbox for working with actors from rehearsal to giving useful direction between takes.
